Test Review Guidelines
Students in Developmental Math are given the opportunity to earn extra credit on a test, or may retest depending on the mode of their course: LEC or LAB. The following guidelines have been set in place for students to earn points back on a lecture test. (Instructor’s Option)
Procedures for Reviewing Student Tests
- DMAT tests with scores between 40% and 80% are eligible for review by a CSM coach.
- DMAT tests with a score below 40% are not reviewed; however, the instructor may send a student to the CSM to earn points back on a low test.
- The student must tell his or her instructor that he wishes to review a specific test in the CSM. It may take a day before the test reaches the CSM.
- Tests are kept for two weeks. After the two weeks, tests are sent back to the instructor.
Students will be called to review tests in the order in which they sign in on our paper sign-in sheets. A student may have to wait his/her turn if several students have recently arrived. CSM coaches use the information on the sign-in sheet to find the individual student’s tests for reviewing. It is very important that the student’s course and section are accurate for accounting purposes as well as for locating the proper test.
The requirements for earning points back on tests and/or taking retests are listed below according to the course’s mode of instruction. Be sure you look at the table that corresponds to your course.
