Annual Graduation Ceremony
The May 14, 2015, ceremony will honor the Fall 2014, Spring 2015, and Summer 2015 graduates. No ceremonies are held at the end of the fall or summer semesters. Students who anticipate completing degrees or certificates in the summer and who have nine (9) hours or less remaining toward completion are eligible and encouraged to attend the May ceremony. If you would like to attend the 2015 Richland College graduation ceremony, you must see a degree auditor in the Admissions office.

Ceremony Confirmation Required
If you are a Fall 2014 graduate or if you will be completing your degree or certificate in the Spring 2015 or Summer 2015 semesters and you have submitted a Richland College Application for a Certificate or Diploma, then you are eligible to participate in the graduation ceremony. If you wish to attend the ceremony, you must speak with a degree auditor in the Admissions Office in Thunderduck Hall.
Your graduate packet, containing graduate instructions, photographer brochure, guest tickets, and guest instructions, will be available for pick-up from April 8 – 22, 2015, at the Admissions Office in Thunderduck Hall. Our regular hours are Monday – Thursday, 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM, and Friday, 8:00 – 5:00 PM. All packets must be picked up by April 22, 2015.
Programs containing the evening’s agenda and graduates’ names are printed and distributed at the graduation ceremony. In order for a graduate’s name to appear in the program, the graduate must have a current Application for a Certificate or Diploma on file in the Richland College Admissions Office.
The deadline to have your name in this year’s program is Thursday, April 10, 2014.
Cap and Gown
The only cost associated with the ceremony is for the purchase of your graduation tassel, cap, and gown. They are available for purchase at the Richland College Bookstore located on campus in Sabine Hall. The purchase price will be $32.35, including tax. Extra tassels may be purchased for $5.41, including tax. The tassel, cap, and gown are yours to keep, and will be available for sale beginning Wednesday, April 8, 2015. Please note that you will not be able to purchase your cap and gown if you have not completed the ceremony confirmation.
The priority deadline for purchasing your cap and gown is Thursday, April 30, 2015.
You are not required to purchase anything else. Class rings and personalized graduation invitations will be available for purchase at http://www.herffjones.com/college/graduation/.
Diplomas and Certificates
You should have a Richland College Application for a Certificate or Diploma form on file in our office in order to be awarded your certificate or diploma. You can submit your application through our safe, secure Online Application link, located on the left side of this page. Richland College may graduate students who have met graduation requirements with or without the student’s permission. This also includes former students.
If you plan to continue taking courses in any of the colleges of the DCCCD after you complete your degree and you wish to receive financial aid, please contact the Financial Aid Office as soon as possible.
Diplomas and certificates are awarded at the end of the fall semester, spring semester (which includes Winter term classes), and summer semester (which includes May term classes). You should have a Richland College Application for a Certificate or Diploma on file with our office in order to be awarded your certificate or diploma.
